• How do you fix a car after an accident?

The damage is to the front bumper and will cost $900 but my insurance deductible is $1000. Someone pulled out from a parking space and slammed in to my car but she's blaming me so her insurance refuses to pay!

Personally I think it's completely unreasonable, but I wanna be open to all perspectives and see if anyone has any advice/insight. I'm 20 years old and I don't have a license or even driven a car for that matter... but it's not like I haven't tried. When I turned 16 I wanted to take my permit test but my mom kept shutting me down and saying no and getting angry. I FINALLY took it when I was 18 (and passed). In my state permits are good for two years and it recently expired without me ever using it because my mom wouldn't take me driving (you have to have 20 hours driving with a parent/legal guardian before drivers ed). I recently took the test again so I have another permit. I'm now 20 and extremely fed up that my mom still won't allow me to drive... It's really sad when my mom has to drive me to work/hang out with friends. Whenever I bring up getting my license she gets really mad at me! I think a license is a necessity for most people and I HATE not having it!

I bought a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Coupe from someone on craigslist this week. It has 112k miles on it, and the owner said the timing belt was replaced last year and he got regular oil changes, but the car died on him a couple months ago and the mechanic didn’t know what was wrong with it. The mechanic ended up installing a new battery and that seemed to fix the problem. He said there were no other issues, and that he was selling the car because he and his wife just purchased new ones and didn’t need a third car. I’ve driven it a few times since I bought it and have noticed a few weird things: the car will jolt once when I’m picking up speed, will jerk back and forth when slowing down/coming to a stop, and the steering wheel vibrates when I’m stopped. My dad (a mechanic of 40+ years) has looked at/driven it and has noticed these things too, but says that I probably just need new rotors and new tires on the back (they’re pretty bald), and maybe a tire alignment. However, I just tried starting the car tonight and it started rumbling really bad, the engine started making a super loud revving noise on and off, the brake light started flickering, and the RPM meter started going up and down by itself. The car was still in park. It wasn’t cold out, so the engine didn’t need to warm up. I left it running for a few minutes, turned it off, then started it again and it kept happening. Is the car junk or does this sound like something that could be fixed?

It would probably have to be a sports car that I find visually appealing, but with bulletproofing like the armoured vehicles that national figures use. Other features would be welcome too.

Best answer: As a general rule with a left turn or a u-turn, you (must) yield the right of way to other traffic that has the right of way (before) you can safely make the turn.

So (odds) are his insurance will find him at fault for your damages. My guess is that the guy blamed you, since he “thought” he could make the u-turn, but when you saw him, you could have swerved to avoid him, got into another lane instead of where he had intended to be when he completed his turn. The same thing happens in a serious head on collision, that if you see a car coming in front of you, could move left/right and the other driver does the same, thus while both try to avoid hitting each other, still do, since both react and go in the same direction.

Only the insurance will make the final call of (who) is liable or not.
