I'm 18, live in Los Angeles, CA and would like to leave. One room apartments here cost $2,400+. Houses cost $4,000+. I'd like to move to Texas. I believe Texas is one of the few states left that remembers what it means to be American (it's Republican). Apartments are much cheaper there and I was told there are certainly more jobs available there. I'm also afraid California will collapse; there's too many liberals here. I have $10,000 saved up. Should I move to Texas and study computer-science there, or stay with my parents and study here?!? _______ Do you think it will be worth it, if I move to Texas now? Thank You.

Just use common sense: keep your money, ID and credit cards in a zippered pocket, wear your purse across your body so it's harder to snatch, don't take anybody back to your hotel room, or go to their hotel room, be aware of your surroundings, look confident, have a phone with GPS and/or a good map with you always.

Enjoy yourself! I often traveled alone for both business and pleasure and never had a problem. A little common sense goes a long way.
