Hello. I'm 17 and just about to go to university, so I'm in need of a new laptop. I'll be studying English literature so there's going to be a lot of typing for me (idk if this is useful information) To be honest with you I don't really use my laptop so I don't know what features I'll need. Other than doing school work and watching movies, I do everything else on my phone instead of laptop. I also use it to download torrents (movies, music etc) so I need 8 or 16 GB RAM. Now as of the Mac, Windows or Chrome OS concept, I've no clue, I've only ever used windows so far, though I'm willing to try the other two. For the screen, I don't want it to be too big, cause I need it to be portable, but not too small so I guess a 12.5 to 14-inch screen will be Ok? Plus a large battery life (8+ hours). Also, I've heard about those 2-in-1 laptop-tablets, and it looks pretty convenient. What do you think? As of budget I can't go over 1000€ . Give me your opinions. What laptop should i get ? Or what features do i need? Please help. Thank you

Here are just a few ideas:

Conversion optimisation specialist. Working on improving the conversion rate on websites. Small changes can radically increase earnings.
Google Adwords specialist. Setting up and managing Adwords campaigns. Competitive field, but you can stand out by also improving landing pages which will increase your earnings.
Growth Hacker. A term which is very much in the wind. Requires a lot of learning. If you are good, you might also get a nice team.
Personally, I make more than $5,000 mainly using my laptop working with digital marketing. I do it as well as teach it on the side to get an additional promotion.

A Laptop is a portable device for CREATORS. You can write programs, documents, edit video & photos, etc. with a laptop.

Very few people type/edit/create content on their phones. (ok, cell phones do shoot video & pictures, but editing is pretty limited). When someone does write a book on their cell phone, it makes news because it is so tedious to do.

Yes you can do "tweets" on a cell phone and Facebook/Instant Message and cell phones are fantastic for these. But the content is consumed in under 15 seconds by people. This is not the same thing as a story, book, well written memo, etc. A Laptop is better for these.

Around two years ago, I had to do a factory reset because I'd mistakenly deleted an important piece of software (I have no idea how or what I deleted), and after the factory reset, of course, all my pictures were deleted. I just recently found my old laptop and I was just curious if there was a way I could somehow recover all those pictures that I'd lost from that factory reset. It says on my computer that the hard drive/disk space is full- could that possibly mean it's still full of my old pictures? I had a lot...over a thousand if I remember correctly.

The extra thinness leads to some compromises: slightly less battery life, lower resolution chat camera, thinner keyboard some people don't like, slower processor speeds but with a faster turbo mode. USB-C rather than Lightning port.

    Overall, worth the extra $300.

  • Did they have typing in 1996?

Best answer: You really need to get out more.
    Or watch some old movies.

I typed, on an actual typewriter, when I was in college.
That was in the early 1970's, and "typing" was a thing for many years before that.
