I am 19 years old, a sophomore in college studying accounting. I applied for this unpaid internship at this small fashion boutique. It was kind of like a startup and looked interesting. During the interview, they told me that I would be more on the business side of things, and I would make them excel sheets and do data analytics. However, on my first day, they made me edit word documents, iron clothes, fold them and untangle 30 feet of string lights FOR 7 HOURS. The owner of the clothing label seems super pretentious and stuck up, he was sort of looking down on all of the interns. The whole environment seemed a bit uncomfortable because I was there doing dirty work for them while all the other interns were on their laptops during other things that are beneficial to them. They kept mentioning that I would be in data analytics in the future but I don t believe them. I figured since it was an unpaid internship, it should benefit me and I should be doing things that will help me learn. However, I was doing retail work for no wages. Should I go a couple more times and then quit or should I just do it now?

Hey everyone. I am a male aged 20 have a good job and I live with my girlfriend who also has a job(She's 18). We live in my parents basement. We pay our own cell bills, the internet for the whole house (internet cost 100$) buy all our groceries and most of the time are out if the house when working or out enjoying life. We currently pay 600 dollars including the internet. I have recently got a better job and can start saving for my own life. Now I have been told we have to start paying 800 dollars plus the internet for 900 dollars. I am puzzled and am not sure if we are being treated fair or treated like a bank. We do not eat their food besides when they invite us to eat for 1 or 2 nights a week. We keep to ourselves in a bedroom with a tv a ps4 and a computer. We sleep and go to work practically. In my area there is places for rent that are 1000 dollars that have everything included and space for parking and it's actually private. But I amm being told that my parents belive they are charging is fair. And we won't find a better deal. I'm too young to know if this seems fair. Anyone give me some advice. Thanks alot folks.

I graduate this year with my bachelors degree, and right off the bat I can make at least 60K. However, I’m in the healthcare field & still have many years to go, which is why I’m taking one year off to just work rather than study. If I were to work for one year and make 60K and save ALL of it & not spend a single dime (I am blessed for my fam). Would I be able to buy my first home? Or do they want to see a continual salary? And IF I’m able to buy a house, what would be the price range that I would be able to afford? (Cali) Thank you! :)

  • How does social security and medicare work ?

Maybe $22,000 from a regular job for 2 years. the rest, far, far less. I never expected or planned for a dime but now that I'm 55 and played with a life expectancy calculator, I realize I may live a helluva lot longer than I thought. And I'm drinking a beer to help. (Drinking 2-7 beers per week extends my life 6 months versus 0-2) Insurance is another question. The ACA has been good to me because I'm healthy and I have low income. So the high deductible policies aren't an issue. And the subsides pay a ton of it. But I'm sure that wont continue. Am I inline for any kind of SS when I get older ? What about Medicare ? Does having assets kill it ? I don't mean ultra rich but I don't work at 55 and my very modest house & car are paid for.

Today before we opened the manager said how it was down the previous day and that we should be extra careful and make sure we are doing everything right. At the end of the day one of the tills was £11 down, another £7 down and the other £3 down. Our system is that one person is always on a till and when it gets busy someone gets on another and if needed someone gets in the third till. I asked which tills were down by the figures above, but he couldn't remember off the top of his head. I know I did and my other 2 colleagues said that they double checked that they gave away the right amount of change. We are certain that we all did everything right. But do not know why they were down

  • Why does it take so long to sign up for a medigap plan for medicare?

Best answer: You might have been better served if you'd called in September before the agent got swamped with open enrollment clients.

Premiums can go up at any time, but most will have a 6 or 12 month guarantee, and after that the increase would be once a year on your anniversary date with most.

Best answer: Over the years when I worked in insurance, I usually had great benefits. But, that applied if I worked in a mega insurance company. The last (2) that I worked prior to retiring were small companies and were the only ones that did (not) offer short term disability, only long term disability. I asked HR why and they stated that with short term, in most cases (only) females wanted since most young females get pregnant, thus would be the most common ones to use. Or, could have surgery and be out of work for a week or 2 to recuperate.

As a general rule in (most) companies, short term starts (after) a week and lasts up to 24 or 26 weeks and paid 60% of your wages, then long term picks up after 24/26 weeks to a full year for 50%. (not sure since I never used either in my lifetime).

Now some companies in lieu of ST disability, may give you additional PTO, or vacation time, that you “might” want to save “just in case” you get sick and get paid. But, if you don’t have enough time saved up, or enough in your savings to cover your bills, then you might want to consider Colonial Life that your employer has suggested. As the other agents have said there (maybe) a “specific” enrollment period that you can sign up. You should contact HR and clarify.

Best answer: Your statement says it all. He is in the process of buying a house.

You would need to sit down and discuss how you feel about this purchase. Perhaps he is not aware of your feelings. Perhaps he is considering the fact that you would not be contributing financially to the purchase.

You should notice a lot of perhaps. This is because we have no idea. It is up to you to find out his feelings about the purchase of the house.

How do you know he plan to not add your name to the title deed. You do not need to be employed to be added to the mortgage loan application or the title deed to the house.

You have no one else to ask. You have him to ask. You might or might not get the answer you want, however, you need to ask.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.
